Picasa for Mac

For if, fulfilling the promise of almost exactly a year ago, Google has launched a gift of kings Picasa 3 for Mac as a beta. Remember that Picasa is an

Bender Ball

application to manage our collection of photos, with features such as face recognition and synchronization with Picasa Web (online version). Above that we follow the same interface as the versions for Windows / Linux, the same features, only the icons are different to integrate better into the system of manzanita.

The biggest novelty is the integration with Picasa iPhoto album from which it draws, events and photos,

Bender Ball

say that in read-only mode. In fact, we asked if we change them make a copy of the photo, not to propagate the changes to iPhoto. After a while I try it has seemed a very good port, retains all the charm and remains very easy to use. The biggest fault I found in this Beta has been realizing that, at least on my system and the program at rest, Picasa onsume entire CPU that can reach up to 100%, hopefully corrected in the final version.

No doubt has been placed as the best alternative to iPhoto, and if they refine those aspects of performance, sure like to users. Obviously, it is advisable to download, but remember that this is a beta (so do not let him move to the only copy of your photos). If you still are not convinced, take a look at the screencast Guillermo made on versions of Windows / Linux.
